Cagnes is made up of two parts; Cros-de-Cagnes known for its beaches and sea and the historic Haut-de-Cagnes, where Auguste Renoir spent the last 12 years of his life. In the house that he used to live in there is now a museum in his honor, the Musée Renoir (June Sept. Wed. Mon. 10am 12pm, 2pm 6pm, Oct. May 12pm, 2pm 5pm) which houses some of his works of art.
The other famous Musée de lOlivier (Olive oil museum: June Sept. Wed. Mon. 10am 12pm, 2pm 6pm, Oct. May 12pm, 2pm 5pm) is in the castle and also has a wonderful inner court from the renaissance period.
