The comfortably furnished holiday house of Casa Terre Bianche is located in the beautiful coastal town of San Lorenzo al Mare. It offers ample room for up to six people and comprises a double bedroom, two bedrooms with a single bed each, a large bright and cheerful living-room with a sofa bed and dining area, as well as a conveniently furnished and equipped kitchen, and a bathroom. You can unwind in the evenings with a delicious Barbeque in the prettily laid out garden, and you can also easily get to the beach, shops and fine restaurants in just twenty minutes on foot.

The destiny of San Lorenzo al Mare as a seaside town can be seen if you look at it from above: the town is built in the curious shape of an anchor. The two arms of the anchor are the two centres, which are divided by the Rio San Lorenzo but nevertheless form one town. The western, prevalently maritime part was founded by the lords of Lengueglia and the monks of Villaregia, while the eastern part was founded by the lords of Porto Maurizio as a fortified rural centre behind the church of the Maddalena.

The numerous Saracen invasions of the sixteenth century led the inhabitants of the two centres to join forces, although it was only following the construction last century of a brickwork bridge that the two parts of the town were joined physically.

San Lorenzo is today a small but well populated municipality. In the summer the beaches are crowded with tourists playing beach volleyball, diving or simply enjoying the clear water and sand.

The church of Santa Maria Maddalena is so close to the sea that frequent restoration work is needed in order to guard against salt erosion. Built on the site of an old Romanesque church (traces of which still remain), it underwent much renovation before acquiring its present form, which is mainly in Ligurian Baroque style. It is well worth visiting the oratory of San Lorenzo, which is of mediaeval origin but was restored in the eighteenth century.

The pedestrian area in the old town centre allows you to go for a leisurely stroll along the recently restored tiled pavement.

If you go up to the top of the "Pentachin" hill, you get a fine view over the coast, which is truly spectacular in springtime when the carpet of flowers (particularly liliums) peeps out among olive trees that sweep right down to the sea. A small bay between the beach and an artificial rock face form a leisure port capable of berthing 200 small boats.

Dolcedo ist sehr sehenswert, auch die Pizzeria dort, Bassano Vecchia ist dagegen nicht sehr zu empfehlen, man stellt sich dann doch was anderes vor nicht so öko, schmutzig usw...Sehr zu empfehlen dagegen St.Paul de Vence in Frankreich u. Grasse. Der Markt in Ventimiglia ist sehr groß, wie in Luino am Lago Maggiore, Vielen Dank an Alex Cocca wg. der Waschmaschine um 21 Uhr Abends, das war ein großer Service. Das die alte Waschmaschine kaputt war, hat mich dann wirklich nicht mehr gewundert, nach allem anderen in der Wohnung!

...wie gesagt, es hätte ein wenig sauberer sein können. Und wenn es für 6 Personen ausgeschrieben ist, sollte z. B. auch Besteck für 6 Personen vorhanden sein. Aber dem haben wir abgeholfen und nachgekauft (und dort gelassen...). Garten = perfekt! Gartenbeleuchtung = perfekt! Balkon (mit Panorama) = perfekt! Also Ihr habt ja schon ein paar Empfehlungen angegeben und alle haben wir nicht geschafft zu besuchen. Aber hervorheben können wir das "Cinque Torre"...

Eine Geschirrrspühlmaschiene würde das ganze abrunden, muß aber nicht sein. Besonderes: die Wohnung war sehr sauber. OK Market ist am Ort der beste Supermarkt. Danke

Die Anlage ist schön, schade ist nur, dass das Cheminee direkt unter dem Schwimmbad des Nachbarn ist. Wir haben uns darum nie getraut Feuer zu machen.

I just LOVED the seawiev. I could sit there for hours, just looking. That is holiday for me. And the evenings in the terrace were just great. Even to live by the Italien people. Not a swede as long we could hear.

Wie oben erwähnt. Auch mussten wir für Liegestühle erst telefonieren. Vielleicht sollten diese standardmässig vorhanden sein. Cervo liegt ganz in der Nähe und ist in jedem Fall einen Besuch wert. Das Restaurant Café del Teatro ist sehr empfehlenswert. Toll ist, wie willkommen Hunde in San Lorenzo und Umgegebung sind. Alle hatten Freude an unserem Hund, fanden ihn süss und "bello" und wollten ihn unbedingt streicheln. Als Hundenarren haben wir das sehr genossen.

Hallo Blumenriviera! Danke nochmals für den schönen Urlaub! Hat alles sehr gut geklappt, ein paar "Anlaufschwierigkeiten" gab es zwar, aber dann war alles o. k. Kommen sehr gerne wieder...:-) Eine "Kleinigkeit" ist am letzten Tag bei der Abreise noch geschehen: Ich bin mit einer Luftmatratze an der Deckenlampe im Flur hängengeblieben, die Glasverschalung ist runter gefallen und zu Bruch gegangen! Tut mir sehr leid... Wickeln wir das über unsere Haftpflicht ab oder wie handhaben wir das? Viele Grüße aus (dem kalten) Schwabenland Uwe Kauer
